Hi
I'm looking for information on Alex and Marjorie Liddell , a Scottish couple who were living in Bishopston around the early years of World War 2. Alex was my grandfather's brother. Sadly, he was lost at sea, aged 38, when his vessel, the Elders & Fyffes line's SS Matina, was torpedoed in the Atlantic in 1940.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission' s Roll of Honour gives Bishopton as Alex's place of residence.
Does anyone remember Alex or his widow, Marjorie Dalrymple Liddell? I'd like to know what happened to her, and whether she and Alex had any children (and if so, whether there were any grandchildren, who would be my contemporaries).
Any information would be very welcome.
