Have you seen the 'new' sports centre lately that's being built in Bishopston School ?

How the HELL did they get planning permission for that ?

I'm not talking about the idea of a sports centre, which is good, but this thing is so imposing - as you look from the north / enter the school, the whole view of the fields and the farmers fields beyond has been completely blocked.... Why couldn't it at least be tucked next to the other gyms ??? So not blocking any view..

As for the building itself, ... well it's the sort of huge ugly industrial warehouse that wouldn't even be built these days in the Fforestfach Industrial estate Angry / Fuming Angry / Fuming

Anyway, whilst on the subject.... What does this thing have anyway ? It doesn't have a swimming pool - supposedly, it's gyms will be for the community but only outside school hours - as the school will have it during school hours.... Hmm, well in that case, what's wrong with using THE CURRENT GYMS FOR THE SAME PURPOSE ?

I always resented the fact when I was in Bishopston School, those gyms were really underused out of hours - I would have loved to use the gym equipment / play basketball etc. not via the school.

Yeah it is ugly (although a damn sight prettier than the other gyms :/) I'm not entirely sure what's gonna be in it, I'll probably go up there sometime... heh I'll give you a game of basketball Jamie.

Hmmm. Fair enough.. It actually looks better from the picture... It's the north side, as you enter the school where it looks worst, and out of proportion...

And the stone bit is the best bit.. It's the metal bit.. Big large metal bits on the North End...
